I had a family that contacted me about possibly purchasing a home here in Virginia. We’ve been talking about different communities, traffic, and homeschooling rules!
One issue is that they live in Florida, and they have a concern about the electric bill. Will it change? How much?
Obviously, more energy efficient systems are less.
Also, keeping the house at 68 in winter and 76 in summer helps a lot! You can also get energy audits for homes.
You can also call the electric company and ask for an average electric bill price for a home. But that still does not tell you their habits. If they are never home, the bill could be deceptive and be very low. My bill is usually high because I’m home all the time, I don’t like being cold, I don’t have a wood stove, and my husband does not like being hot. LOL!
