It’s the small things in life that make it all right… My wife and I have been married for 15 years. We got married at 18 and didn’t think we’d make around year seven, but a miracle happen and we figured it out. We’ve been very happy for eight years and have come to enjoy one another and the holidays more every year. Some things are better appreciated when they were harder to come by. However, some simply things make me happy as well.
We just re-graveled (not sure that’s a word) yesterday and whereas that’s a small thing, it’s nice to feel that a project has been accomplished and that value has been added to our home. I’ve just installed plantation plank styled blinds in the front of the home and finished setting up my home office. All these small things add value and improve presentation to the home.
To combine the Christmas tree, daughters running to the door to say “hi” when I come home, the brightness of my wonderful wife following behind them, makes for a fantastic day, no matter how great the challenges at work.
It wasn’t always like this and I am glad that we fought and struggled to get to this place. It was well worth the effort. Being in Real Estate in a difficult market has created it’s own challenges and I am glad to know that by struggling through them now, we’ll all be stronger when the market comes back around.
My point is that you should embrace the challenges because the awards are so great – but don’t neglect the small things like blinds, driveways and Christmas decorations!
I hope everyone is enjoying their Holiday Season and finding happiness in your home and with your family!

In this year with financial lows for many families, (due to job lay off and lack of business) it is so good to remember the things that are really important.
